Looking Back on Another Successful Arbor Day

Our favorite day of the year has come and gone — and what a day it was.

On April 30, Arbor Day celebrations stretched from our headquarters in Nebraska all the way to the White House. Thousands of cities, schools, and businesses joined together to host tree planting events and hand out seedlings, greening up our communities for decades to come.

For many supporters, making a difference on Arbor Day was as simple as logging into social media. The Arbor Day Foundation partnered with Peanuts to plant one tree for each #ArborDay hashtag used on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Over 50,000 hashtags were used, and together, we’ll be planting 100,000 trees in forests across Southern California, Michigan, the United Kingdom, and Nepal.

That’s the magic of planting trees. It unites people of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs, all over the world.

Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Whether you picked up a shovel or sent a tweet, we’re incredibly grateful for your support, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you again next year.
