Forests enhance and protect our water quality. Approximately 66% of the country’s freshwater resources come from forest land. But what happens when our forests are devastated by natural disasters such as wildfire or infestation? There is no replacement for water. We can’t create something to replace water, but we can, and do, plant trees. Sixteen of the national forests we’re replanting in are home to watersheds, providing clean drinking water to millions of Americans. Visit Replanting Our Forests to learn more.
