Tree Planting

Volunteers plant trees on MLK Day

By Mary Sweeney | January 18, 2016

Trees Atlanta—a member of the Arbor Day Foundation’s Alliance for Community Trees program— engaged local youth and adults in a Day of Service tree planting to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Today, hundreds of volunteers joined together for “A Day On, Not a Day Off” to provide community beautification by planting trees at Adair Park, Hahn Woods, and Southview Cemetery. Sponsors included KPMG Atlanta, HOA Family Group, Sankofa Counseling Center, YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta and Georgia Tech Office of Leadership & Civic Engagement.
